Lawrence & Memorial Recognized for Quality
The more you know about healthcare, the more you'll like L&M.
JCAHO Gold Seal of Approval
We would like to publicly and proudly acknowledge our Hospital staff, physicians and administration for achieving the maximum three-year accreditation awarded by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) during their 2004 survey of the hospital, Flanders Health Center and Pequot Health Center.
They achieved this recognition because of their teamwork and the emphasis on providing quality of care throughout the organization. Measuring up to the challenging standards of the nation's most prestigious accrediting healthcare organization is no easy task. JCAHO evaluates the quality and safety of care delivered in over 17,000 health care organizations across the country. JCAHO standards are regarded as the most rigorous in the industry.
To the community, the hospital's success in passing with "flying colors" means we offer our patients exceptional quality care across a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services. The Hospital demonstrated full compliance with all of the 2004 National Patient Safety Goals, a standard not achieved by all JCAHO-credentialed hospitals.
L&M ranked nationally in the 97th percentile in the 3rd quarter FY 04 and in the 99th percentile in the 4th Quarter.
L&M has never before achieved such high rankings nationally, among peer hospitals and when compared to all Connecticut hospitals. Press Ganey Associates is the health care industry's leading independent vendor of satisfaction measurement and improvement services. The latest scores compared L&M to 849 hospitals across the country. We thank the staff involved and are proud of all employees working together to support excellent patient services at L&M. Lawrence & Memorial's goal is to remain in the 90th percentile.
Eastern Connecticut's only CARF accredited acute inpatient rehabilitation facility.
CARF (Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) reviews and grants accreditation services nationally and internationally on request of a facility or program. Their standards are rigorous, so those services that meet them are among the best available. CARF's focus is on ensuring the services you use meet your needs for quality and the best possible outcomes.
